A Return to Winter

Snow is back in the forecast after an extended period of dry weather and record highs. Today and tomorrow will remain mild with highs likely reaching 70 Thursday before the first of a couple cold fronts drops through the area Thursday night. At this point the details remain up in the air as far as I can tell. The cold front will likely bring a rain/snow mix to the metro area Thursday night, and a chance for all snow during the day Friday. Precipitation with this front looks fairly light overall. Temperatures will drop Friday into the 40s and are expected to stay there at least through Sunday.
Our second chance of snow comes on Sunday... The National Weather Service calls this front "more significant" than Thursday night's, but at this point are forecasting just a slight (10%) chance of snow on Sunday. That said, it bares watching... could be we are in for a late weekend snow.
