Winter Storm Watch!

Okay... not for Denver... But ALMOST! The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the foothills and areas to our south as close as Castle Rock! The forecast is calling for 4 - 8 inches for areas above about 6500 feet in elevation tonight and tomorrow. Denver will likely just get a rain/snow mix tonight - and be all rain tomorrow. Stay tuned in case things change!

Is this going to be a snowy winter for Denver?

Depends on who you ask. Traditionally El Nino years (which we are in) are good snow years for Denver. Usually we see less storms, but when it does snow... MORE snow.
There was actually an interesting article in the Denver Post this morning asking this very question... and pointing out that a cold snowy September 23 really tells us nothing about how this winter will go (http://www.denverpost.com/weathernews/ci_13398270)

We'll see!
